About Us

Where Storytelling Takes Root

Welcome to Enchanted Green Acres. We’ve created a literary site where memory, history, knowledge and imagination are carefully cultivated, much like the land we live on.

Our site is home to a growing collection of literary works that dig into the soil of the past: family lore, rural traditions, local history, coal town legends, vintage oddities, and true tales that sound too strange to be anything but real. Some of our literary works are steeped in fact and memory. Others are embellished just enough to keep you guessing. But all are rooted in the belief that every life, every place, and every object has a story worth telling — even a broken-down trailer, the old farm springhouse, or forgotten photographs in a biscuit tin.

We publish essays, memoirs, historical fiction, nostalgic vignettes, . You’ll find Appalachian ghosts, eccentric relatives, carnival mishaps, front porch wisdom, old coal mines, antique contraptions, and the slow art of growing grapes — all woven together by a wry sense of humor and a deep respect for heritage.

Our intention is simple:
Preserve what might be lost.
Entertain with stories both strange and true.
Pass on knowledge that once lived only in barns, kitchens, and front parlors.
Connect readers with the beauty, absurdity, and resilience of life — past and present.

We are writers, researchers, land stewards, DIYers and keepers of family yarns. And we believe the best stories come from lived experience, shared roots, and a willingness to laugh at the chaos of it all.

Thanks for visiting. We hope you’ll stay a while — and come back often.
